Jonathan Brill, a global futurist at HP (Hewlett-Packard) who predicted future risks and opportunities and developed response strategies with leaders of organizations around the world, said, “HP predicted the increase in the occurrence of infectious diseases since 2015 and has been working on applying printer technology to the medical field, such as rapid diagnosis.”

Now, with the aftereffects of the pandemic continuing for more than a year and a half, HP’s net profit for the February-April quarter of this year has increased by about 61% year-on-year to $1.228 billion. Earnings per share (EPS) also grew significantly by 84.91% year-on-year to $0.98. Of course, it benefited from the booming laptop market due to the spread of remote work, but Brill evaluated it as “thanks to long-term exploration to recognize the risks and opportunities of large-scale events that may occur in the future and to preemptively consider approaches to intentionally utilize them.”
